Merry Christmas!
Daryn and I spent Christmas Eve with my mom, Jeanette, Dave and Lucas, the star of the night. It was great fun to watch him attempt to open gifts, but he seemed more interested in chewing on the paper :) It was a festive night full of fun, family, and lots of yummy food!

A little slow...
Hello everyone! It's been a year and a half since I've written, and I actually forgot I had this blog. Oops! My dear friend, Shauna, has inspired me to start writing again. I actually do have lots that has happened in our simple life.
Daryn is working hard to become a personal trainer. He has been inspired by his recent 25 pound weight loss and is studying to become certified so he can start torturing poor folks. He recently won the men's 3.5 division tennis championship for all of Texas. Only the top 8 are invited and took home the top prize. I'm very proud of him :)
I have been working on a few things myself. I became a certified principal, and got hired as a vice-principal this fall. It's been a challenge to say the least, but I am enjoying the work, learning lots and having new ideas jumping around in my head daily. My eventual goal is to open my own school, and I'm hoping that dream is not too far away.
My brother, Jeff and his wife, Erin, had a darling baby girl last January. Her name is Skylar Nicole Seedman, and she is beautiful. We get to finally meet her this spring when we take a journey to California.
Jeanette, my sister, and Dave had a baby boy in June, and he is precious as well. His name is Lucas Michael Brazel, and I get to see him all the time since she lives just a few minutes from us.
My father, Bill McAlpine was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis over a year ago, and it's a terminal lung disease. He passed away on October 30th of this year, and while it was heartbreaking and sad to see him go, we know he is now free from his suffering. I miss him and think of him often, wanting to share something with him. He wasn't a big part of our lives in past 15 years, but he still left a hole in our hearts.
His sister, Donna McAlpine passed away just a few weeks ago. She was a treasure and I wish I had gotten to spend more time with her. She was born with downs syndrome, and she was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her.
Well, that is the update for our lives. Our furry friends are doing well. We still have 6 cats and 2 great danes. We cherish them all!
